Natalie Ann Jamieson is a British actress best known for her portrayal of Amy Wyatt in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, a role she played from 2019 to 2025.
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne and raised in Walker, Jamieson began her acting journey with the Live Youth Theatre in Newcastle. She went on to study at Newcastle College, later gaining a place at Rose Bruford College in Bexley, graduating in 2011.
Her path to drama school was not without challenges. After being rejected twice, she persisted and eventually succeeded on her third audition. During this time, she worked two jobs — in a department store by day and a nightclub by night — often finishing shifts at 4 a.m. and starting work again just five hours later. She also briefly worked as a costumed tour guide, dressing as a Tudor to give city tours.
Jamieson made her television debut in an episode of the ITV crime drama Vera. That same year, she appeared in Ken Loach’s acclaimed film I, Daniel Blake, marking her film debut. In 2018, she had a guest role in the BBC medical soap opera Doctors.
Later that year, she auditioned for Emmerdale and landed the role of Amy Wyatt, previously portrayed by Chelsea Halfpenny. Jamieson had a pre-existing connection to the show through Laura Norton, who plays Amy’s on-screen mother, Kerry Wyatt — the two had previously worked together on a stage production written by Norton.
Jamieson made her Emmerdale debut in 2019, and that same year received a Best Newcomer nomination at the TV Choice Awards.
Outside of acting, she co-hosted the Ad Libbing Podcast in 2020 alongside her boyfriend, Ward. She also appeared on television game shows such as Pointless Celebrities and Celebrity Mastermind. On the latter, she supported Cure Usher, a charity dedicated to individuals with Usher syndrome.
In February 2025, it was announced that Jamieson would be leaving Emmerdale, with her character being killed off as part of a major storyline.
